Taking on an oval course for the final time this season, Christian Bogle joined HMD Motorsports at World Wide Technology Raceway for the INDY NXT by Firestone Outfront Showdown this past weekend.
After finishing the lone practice sessions of the weekend in fifth, Bogle was confident heading into the race on Saturday night. With a series of storms derailing the day’s schedule, qualifying was canceled, and the grid was set by car entrant points, which placed Bogle in 14th for the start of the race. Taking the green flag, Bogle began his journey of driving up through the field as he moved up into 13th on the opening lap. On the next lap, Bogle again gained a position. Settling in, Bogle remained in 12th. Reaching the midway point of the 75-lap race, Bogle moved up yet again as he took over 11th, where he continued for the remainder of the race. Bringing home an 11th-place finish, this marked Bogle’s best oval result of the season and his best overall result since round four of the championship in Detroit back in June.
Spending the next two weeks on the West Coast, the 2023 season will finish off the final three rounds of the championship with a single race at Portland International Raceway this upcoming weekend followed by a double-header event weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, California. Up first, INDY NXT by Firestone will shift focus to the Portland International Raceway this upcoming weekend, September 1-3 for the 12th round of the championship season.
Taking place over the three-day weekend, INDY NXT by Firestone will have two on-track practice sessions prior to qualifying on Saturday evening. Ahead of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race, Christian Bogle will receive the green flag on Sunday afternoon.
