The INDY NXT by Firestone series is in full swing. The double-header event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, typically the season finale every year, took place this past weekend, the sixth event of the series, marking the halfway point in the 2024 season. HMD Motorsports driver Christian Bogle secured his best two finishes of the season on the 2.238 mile-long road course in the hills of Salinas, California, finishing seventh and eighth in the two wheel-to-wheel races.

After securing a fifth-place starting position for race one of the weekend, his best qualifying of the season, Bogle piloted the #7 Pelican branded car across the finish line in seventh, his best finish of his 2024 campaign. Falling towards the back for the start of race two after being forced off track, Christian made a monumental leap from 15th on track to eighth overall. This was his second top-ten finish of the weekend and a great momentum builder for the rest of the 2024 season.

“The WeatherTech Raceway is arguably the toughest track on the schedule,” explains Bogle. “The elevation change paired with high-speed corners makes for a challenging ride, so I’m super happy with this weekend’s results. The best finish of the season yet, but there’s still work to be done.”

Christian and the rest of the paddock will take a week off from racing before returning to back-to-back race weekends starting at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course over the July 5-7 weekend. Before the twist and turns of Mid-Ohio, Bogle will be on track at the 7/8th mile Iowa Speedway for a an INDY NXT by Firestone test this Friday.
