With a winter test program now behind him, sophomore Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires driver Christian Bogle is ready to begin his 2022 campaign. Inking a deal with the HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing program in late 2021, Bogle has completed numerous test days and is ready to show his improvement from year-to-year.
“It has been a good offseason as there was a lot of changes to overcome and big difference from where I was to where I am,” explained Bogle. “Our most recent test was the most successful and that has built some confidence heading into St. Pete, so I am excited and anxious to get going.”
After getting to know the team, crew, teammates, and new way of doing things, Bogle completed test days at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Sebring International Raceway, Barber Motorsports Park and most recently, the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Bogle continued, “We have made steady progress from day one. The HMD Motorsports crew is incredible and definitely one of the best teams I have had in my short motorsports career. I am absolutely learning and making steady progression toward my end goal of someday competing in INDYCAR. A dedicated engineer, a driver coach and four fast teammates will help speed my progression, and I am looking forward to the challenge. We have set realistic goals and will look to achieve the first of them in St. Pete.”
The first on track session of the season takes place on Friday morning with the one and only practice session of the weekend. Qualifying will take to the track on Friday afternoon before final warmup early Friday evening. Bogle and the rest of the Indy Lights competitors will be out of the seat on Saturday before round one goes green on Sunday morning.
