The INDY NXT by Firestone series made their return to the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) this past weekend for the second and final time this season. Looking to improve upon his previous result in May, HMD Motorsports driver Christian Bogle kept it consistent this time around, adding a few points to his championship total.
“There was absolutely no time to waste this time around,” explains Bogle. “Having raced here once this season is beneficial, but with only a few hours of on-track time before we race, it’s all about getting up to speed quickly.”
Unlike the first INDY NXT by Firestone Grand Prix at IMS, this event featured the only single-day race event on the 2023 calendar alongside the monster NTT INDYCAR SERIES and a pair of NASCAR programs also competing over the weekend. One day included three on-track sessions, a single practice followed by qualifying and the race. Despite the quick turnaround, Bogle was able to improve upon his previous result of 18th, bringing the #7 car across the finish line in 13th, two places ahead of his starting position.
“We got a much better result this time around,” explained Bogle after the race. “And I’m happy in the improvement from the May event until now. The season is moving along but it’s not over yet. We’ve still got three more tracks to hit up for a total of four races and an opportunity to finish the season strong.”
Christian Bogle and the rest of the INDY NXT competitors will enjoy one final week off before closing out the 2023 season with a three-week straight tour starting at the World Wide Technology Raceway just outside St. Louis before traveling to Portland, Oregon, and the Portland International Raceway and finishing off with the season finale in Monterey, California at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca.
