One weekend remains in the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season for Christian Bogle and HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing. With 12 rounds complete, the season will come to a close this weekend at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with a double-header event weekend.
As part of a West Coast swing, Bogle and the series spent last weekend at Portland International Raceway for Round 12 of the Championship. After being fourth quickest in practice, Bogle struggled to find speed in qualifying and would start on the inside of row six for the race. With a strong start, he moved up multiple positions in the opening lap, before being driven off course in turn six of the first lap by another driver, resulting in an early retirement from the race.
This weekend, Bogle hopes to carry his speed over to the 11-turn circuit of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. With two rounds scheduled to finish out the season, the Indy Lights field will have one practice session to acclimate to the track. A thirty-minute qualifying session will be split into two parts to determine starting positions for the two races. The first race for Indy Lights will take place on Saturday afternoon with the final round of the championship taking place on Sunday just prior to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES Championship finale.
