Two months since the start of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Championship, Christian Bogle is excited to return to the driver’s seat for round two of the season. Returning in the #7 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry, Bogle will take on Barber Motorsports Park this weekend, April 29-May 1.
In the weeks that have passed since the last round in St. Petersburg, Bogle has participated in two tests with HMD Motorsports at Indianapolis Motor Speedway three weeks ago and Barber Motorsports Park just last week. In his time since joining the team, Bogle has continued to improve his race craft and gain confidence with every lap.
Last season in Indy Lights, Bogle finished tenth in both races at Barber Motorsports Park. This year, as he continues to settle in with a new team, Bogle is looking to improve on his position in the talented Indy Lights field of drivers.
“We had a great test up until an incident forced us to stop late in the day,” explained Bogle. “Before that, everything was going well, and I was on pace with my teammates. I really enjoy Barber and hope that it can be the site of my best Indy Lights result to date.”
In a change from last season, Barber Motorsports Park will host only one round of the Indy Lights Championship and will take place just prior to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES main event. Prior to the race on Sunday, Bogle will have two practice sessions – one on Friday afternoon and one Saturday morning – followed by a Saturday afternoon qualifying session.
