Christian Bogle has been steadily improving since joining HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing for the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season. Now he is ready for the Indy Lights Grand Prix of Indianapolis doubleheader event this weekend, May 13-14 at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Bogle’s first test with HMD Motorsports took place at IMS during the Chris Griffis Memorial Test last October. Then, one month ago, Bogle and HMD Motorsports returned to the track and completed a series test day where Bogle made great progress closing his gap to the leaders, leaving the test with greater confidence for the upcoming race weekend.
Last week, the team hosted a test day at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. During this test, HMD Motorsports interchanged some of the crew, giving Christian a different engineer to work with. After a positive experience for both, Christian will be working with a new engineer this weekend in Indianapolis and onwards for the rest of the 2022 season.
“We are working hard and making progress,” explained Bogle. “The team has been great to work with and after two events, they have worked with me to make the necessary changes to improve my program. I look forward to seeing how those changes work this weekend after a successful test last week.”
With two separate tests at the track under his belt, Bogle is confident and prepared heading into the next two rounds.
This weekend, drivers will experience their first doubleheader event weekend of the season and will hit the track three times on Friday for practice, qualifying and race one. The second race of the weekend will take place on Saturday morning prior the NTT INDYCAR SERIES main event.
